Scanning Sonar
Scanning sonar is a type of active sonar that operates by transmitting pulses of sound into the water and recording the echoes that are returned as each sound pulse is reflected off objects in front of it. It is used for navigation.
Laser Scalers
It is often required to do simple length measurements underwater for understanding the scale of the object in view. Boxfish Robotics can add two or four laser scalers to the ROV that facilitate this. Photogrammetry is another application that can take advantage of laser scalers.
External Stereo Cameras
Designed for quantitative research, the Stereo Camera system captures calibrated imagery for measuring fish and environmental features. Ideal for fisheries science, biodiversity assessments, habitat monitoring, and long-term environmental studies.
External 20x Zoom Camera
The Boxfish external 20x zoom camera offers a distinctive solution for scientists and explorers. It combines exceptional 4K imaging capabilities with user-friendly controls and a highly durable design.
Pipe profiling sonar
Pipe profiling sonar is a specialised tool used to inspect and assess the condition of pipelines and tunnels. We offer Imagenex 831A and 831L pipe profiler, producing highly accurate images, which can be processed to deliver 3D images for comprehensive inspection.
CTD
CTD sensors, which measure conductivity, temperature, and depth or pressure, are commonly used in marine research and oceanography. We offer Valeport miniCTD that is ideally suited for the Boxfish ROV platform.
Fluorometer
Adding a fluorometer to a Boxfish ROV provides a portable and efficient method to measure water quality, pollution, and the health of marine environments. We currently integrate a Turner Designs C3 Submersible Fluorometer.
pH sensor
pH sensors help monitor the health of aquatic ecosystems by measuring the pH levels of seawater. We integrate calibration-free OC range of ANB Sensors with all Boxfish products.
Turbidity
Turbidity sensor monitor water quality by providing data on the concentration of suspended particles, such as silt, algae, or other microorganisms. Alongside CTD and pH sensors, turbidity sensor provides a comprehensive analysis of water properties. We offer Valeport Hyperion Turbidity sensor.
Chlorophyll
Chlorophyll sensors are used to measure the concentration of chlorophyll in water, which is an indicator of the amount of phytoplankton present. Alongside other instruments like CTD, pH, and turbidity sensors to provide a comprehensive analysis of water properties. We offer Valeport Hyperion Chlorophyll sensor.
Hydrophone
Hydrophones can detect and record sounds from marine life, underwater vehicles, construction sites and natural phenomena such as waves and seismic activity. We integrated Ocean Sonics icListen hydrophone, well known within scientific community.
Multiparameter Probe
Expand your ROV or AUV beyond visual inspection with integrated environmental sensing. Multiparameter probes provide real-time water quality measurements and are available with up to 4, 5, or 7 sensor ports to support marine science, environmental monitoring, and aquaculture applications.
Field Fast Charger
Recharge the ROV in the field in as fast as 45 minutes with the Boxfish 40/60A AC Charger. This field fast charger is enclosed in a waterproof IP67 case, and allow to recharge the ROV if needed while you are moving between sites.
